Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef, 80/20
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • Lettuce, tomato, and pickles for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Use your hands or a spoon to mix the ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  3. Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal parts and shape each part into a ball. Flatten each ball into a patty.
  4. Add the patties to the grill and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until they're cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  5. While the burgers are cooking, cook the bacon slices in a pan over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Once the burgers are cooked, assemble the BBQ Bacon Burgers by spreading a layer of BBQ sauce on the bottom bun, followed by a cooked patty, a few slices of bacon, some shredded cheese, and finally the top bun.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
  8. Consider toasting the buns on the grill or in a toaster for added crunch.
