Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef, 80/20
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (115g) pasta of your choice
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp (5g) dried oregano
  • 1 tsp (5g) paprika
  • 1/2 tsp (2g) salt
  • 1/4 tsp (1g) black pepper
  • 1 cup (115g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp (30g) olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and cook until it's translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
  4. Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks, until it's browned, about 5-6 minutes.
  5. Drain the excess fat from the skillet, then add the diced tomatoes, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  6. Add the pasta to the skillet, stirring to combine with the beef and tomato mixture. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the pasta is al dente.
  7. Reduce heat to low, then top the skillet with the shredded cheddar cheese. Cover the skillet with a lid and let the cheese melt, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Remove the lid and serve the Cheeseburger Skillet hot, garnished with chopped fresh herbs if desired.
